Why I do this Work
I spent my life pursuing answers to the deep questions that inform my sense of self, my spirituality and my experiences, both joyous and challenging.
This seeking has fueled my professional development and my spiritual journey.
I've long understood the body is more than what you see.
This has informed my 40 years working as a massage therapist and has been further verified by my studies in energy healing.
As a long time practitioner of meditation, I also bring compassionate attention to each session and to each client.
And, I listen not just to what you say but what your body is saying.
After graduating with a BA in History from the University of Michigan, I turned my attention to my lifelong interest in massage.
I studied and graduated from the Shiatsu Therapy Center in Boston and the Swedish Institute in New York City, where I gained my licensure. I have stayed current with the evolution of the field, attending continuing education classes consistently.
You can read more about the different modalities I use on the Sessions page.
From years of meditation practice, I bring focused attention to your session, so that you receive intentional care.
In 2018, I began studying energy healing at the Energy Healing Institute. This learning facilitated a different experience of refined touch, working with subtle energies. As with massage, I have continued to deepen my learning, and find it a privilege to support my clients as they let go of emotional patterns and behaviors as they heal from injury and illness.
Satu genuinely cares about your health and takes the time to listen and plan with you. She is a true gem! Her office is clean and relaxing, and she is warm and professional. I recommend her with no hesitation."
